A Sydney couple have recently splashed $5.8 million on a Wagstaffe waterfront, with plans to use the high-end Central Coast property as a holiday house.
The sale superseded all 2018 sales for the region and was the highest ever price achieved for a Peninsula waterfront.
The incredible home in the exclusive Santoy Estate at 5 Bulkara St featured an enormous hallway reminiscent of an art gallery, leading to an open-plan living room and kitchen overlooking an indoor outdoor L-shaped pool, character-filled boathouse with a shared deep water jetty, and stunning Brisbane Water views from every angle.
Sold by Belle Property Killcare, Principal Cathy Baker said that 2019 had started off with a bang for her business.
“I had over 400 holiday guests to service over the Christmas-New Year period, plus 12 good sales to start off the year, so it has been a busy time,” she said.
“There has been so much demand for $4 million plus properties, both local and overseas. I am working with celebrities, expats – you name it.”

IS THIS CENTRAL COAST HOME AUSTRALIA’S BEST KEPT SECRET?
Ms Baker said that holiday makers were starting to cotton on to what the Coast has to offer and were beginning to choose it as an investment area, rather than traditional Sydney hot spots.
“The Peninsula is becoming the new Palm Beach,” she said.
“A report came out last year about Killcare Heights being the biggest growth suburb in Australia, and holiday houses are booking out in the area for up to $30,000 per week. Buyers are becoming drawn to the lucrative returns,” she said.
Wealthy investors are certainly injecting funding into the area.
A white Hamptons-style property at 6 Bulkara St – directly next door to the top-selling $5.8 million Wagstaffe property – was given a significant million dollar plus renovation in recent times.
Last year it was awarded the most prestigious award in the residential building industry — the Housing Industry Association’s House of the Year for 2018.

The colossal seven-bedroom home was built by local team Construct Central Coast and includes a custom-made kids playground.
With land value properties in the area selling for $3 million plus, the waterfront mansion would almost certainly take out a Central Coast sales record should it be listed for sale.
The current record for the region was set by 5 Pacific St, Wamberal which was sold in 2016 by Mat Steinwede from McGrath Terrigal for $7.1 million.
