A group of angry neighbours have become unlikely social media stars after they were filmed savagely attacking each other with planks of wood.
The bizarre neighbourhood spat was caught on film by Twitter user Taran Stokoe, who was visiting his grandmother at the time.
Mr Stokoe uploaded the footage on the social media platform earlier this month with the caption: “No need for an alarm clock at my Nanna’s house this morning when you have plank wars going off at 8am.”

The 11-second clip has so far attracted more than five million views and hundreds of thousands of shares and comments.
The incident is believed to have taken place somewhere in the UK — although the identities of those involved or the reason behind the fight is not known.
The short video begins with one man in a grey jumper hurling a plank of wood over his fence and narrowly missing his neighbour, who then seizes the wood and threatens to throw it back again.
The first man grabs another plank and is then joined by a woman, who stands between them with her arms raised while appearing to plead with the men to stop fighting.
But she enters the house only to return again and throw her own plank of wood as the incident escalates, with a second woman and a dog watching the entire odd scene from an upstairs window.
The clip ends with one of the neighbours throwing several planks of wood over the fence, with his opponent nowhere to be seen.
Luckily, nobody appears to have been hurt in the incident, with all blows failing to hit anyone.
Social media users have been unable to resist poking fun at the outraged neighbours.
“For any American viewers — don’t be alarmed this is just a tradition in England,” one posted.
“Morning plank toss allows neighbours to show love and affection by tossing planks of fire wood to one another to keep homes warm in winter. Huge love shown at the end when he tosses some back.”

“A bit early for board games,” another wrote.
Another added: ”Make Britain great again.”
“I still maintain we should have mandatory background checks when buying wood,” another Twitter user quipped.
