AN eye-catching apartment building is set to sprout in the inner west and deliver sweeping bay views.
Five Dock’s bustling Great North Rd will be transformed when work gets under way on the Catania project, a $40 million commercial and residential development due to open its doors in late 2020.
The Royal Metway venture, which will incorporate the style of BKA Architecture, is being marketed by 365 Property Group.
Director Stefan Jones said the 34 apartments would be split across two buildings, one to rise seven levels and another which will be five storeys tall.

He said the cleverly designed project would bring together an ideal lifestyle in a top location.
“Residents will have the thriving Five Dock village on their door, with an easy walk up to cafes, restaurants and Coles,” Mr Jones said.
“The sights are also a highlight — to the east there are city and district views and to the west, residents will see over Canada Bay and Cabarita.”
The complex will have a mix of one-, two- and three-bedroom units featuring floor-to-ceiling windows, ducted airconditioning and imported stone flooring.
Kitchens will be fitted with Miele appliances and Carrara marble, which will also be a feature in the sleek bathrooms. All rooms come with a balcony or terrace as well as a car space and all residents will have access to a rooftop barbecue area that best captures the tranquil scenery.
Mr Jones said the project was aptly named after a city on Italy’s east coast as it is in a pocket of Sydney that is popular among those with Italian backgrounds.
He said about half of the units had been snapped up since late last year.
