The lucky family who lives here ventures into Australia’s best park nearby every day, usually with ‘Buster’ the dog.

The owners of the charming 1920s five-bedroom, three-bathroom home on a 757 sqm block at 21 Robertson Rd, Centennial Park are TV producer Nick Murray and his wife, Lizzie.

The house sits behind a Lilli Pilli hedge, with a white frangipani on one side of the front path and a vegie patch of pumpkins, strawberries, basil and strawberries on the other, is a joy to return to.

The renovation and restoration by architect Toby Gunning and interior designer Briony Fitzgerald is nearly two decades old but was done so well that it could have been done yesterday.

To the right of the entrance hall there’s formal lounge and dining, with original timber floors, a Jetmaster gas fireplace and an original wood burner, bespoke joinery and enough room for a baby grand piano.

To the left, there’s a TV room or fifth bedroom, with a bathroom and laundry.

Beyond is the roomy kitchen, freshened up last year, which has stainless steel appliances including a large Viking stove and a huge marble slab island bench and breakfast bar.

This is part of the huge open-plan living area, which has airconditioning, three-metre ceilings and a comfy bay window seat that captures the morning sun.

Bi-fold doors open to an outdoor entertainment area. Beyond there’s the gas-and-solar-heated pool, with another impressive frangipani nearby and deciduous Manchurian pear trees along both side fences. There’s a garden storage room with toilet and rear-lane access to a double garage.

A wide staircase leads to four large bedrooms.

The main has an ensuite with double shower, huge dressing room and study that opens to a balcony overlooking the pool.

And the three other bedrooms have double built-in robes, built-in desks and ceiling fans. One of the front bedrooms has views of the city while the other opens to a balcony.

These bedrooms are served by a bathroom with a large tub surrounded by pear-green tiling.

The home goes to auction on Sunday, March 3, through McGrath agents Kevin Mendes on 0418 962 035 and Imran Hamidi on 0412 332 330.

The price guide is $8 million.

The inspection times are Thursday 5-6pm and Saturdays and Sundays 11am-noon.
