The inner west is one of the most desirable regions in Sydney, with many buyers keen to make the move into one of its popular lifestyle suburbs.
Whether it be the convenience and cafe culture of living in areas like Newtown and Enmore or the family-friendly nature of Strathfield or Drummoyne, there is something for everyone.
In any region there are streets which are more popular than others, typically in the best location close to the water, parkland or shopping.
The inner west is no different, with the Golden Mile in Strathfield an obvious standout, as well as Appian Way in Burwood, St Georges Crescent in Drummoyne and Louisa Rd in Balmain.
Agent Chris Wilkins of Ray White Drummoyne said any of the waterfront streets around the Drummoyne peninsula — like St Georges Crescent and Wrights Rd — were always highly sought-after with buyers, as was Thompson St, Dening St and Burnell St, which are just a few streets further back.

“It is a combination of views, aspect, land size and opportunity, with some of the top sales in the inner west coming from those streets,” Mr Wilkins said.
One of the top sales was at 53 Dening St, which sold through Mr Wilkins in late November for $5.8 million. This sale highlights the demand for property in these specific locations, Mr Wilkins said, and shows they are unaffected by market conditions.
“We definitely have people wanting to buy in these specific streets. It doesn’t matter what the conditions are, there will always be buyers on them,” he said.
According to data from realestate.com.au, the most viewed street on their site in the inner west is Firth Avenue in Strathfield, with 3563 online views per listing.
This is followed by Fricourt Ave in Earlwood with 3357 views per listing and Hadfields St in Erskineville with 3221 views.
Centenary Drive and Llandilo Ave in Strathfield also made the list, as did Rayner St in Lilyfield and Selborne St in Burwood. All had over 2700 views per listing.
Sebastian Bonaccorso of Elders Inner West said it was difficult to highlight specific streets within the region that were most attractive to buyers, instead focusing on precincts that were close to parkland and amenities.
“Anything surrounding Henley Park in Enfield is a very attractive pocket and in Croydon there are certain areas bordering Burwood Heights that are in very high demand,” he said.
“Enfield has been a favourite among families with its really good schooling options and the proximity to Burwood and Strathfield. It is generally a low rise suburb so that is a big attraction to the area.”

Streets close to Henley Park include The Parade, Cobden St, Beaumaris St and Portland St.
“There is always a short supply of homes in that area,” Mr Bonaccorso said.
One of the most impressive sales of 2018 was at 79 Portland St in Croydon Park, which sold through Elders Inner West for $2.5 million.
