NEIGHBOURS are thrilled a two-storey beach house in St Leonards was not snapped up by developers.
Instead a Werribee couple have secured the 698sq m property at 399 The Esplanade for the asking price of $949,000 with plans to retire there.
Stockdale & Leggo, Portarlington agent Amelia Wright said the buyers would be doing a light renovation to the house for now.

“They will probably knock it down in the future and build their dream retirement home,” Ms Wright said.
“There weren’t many developers looking at it surprisingly, 80 per cent of interested parties were looking for a holiday house.”
The original beach house has three bedrooms, two bathrooms and an open-plan living area with fireplace that opens out to the balcony that takes in a view across the bay to the Melbourne city skyline.
