Shailer Park house is renovated and has space for the family

KELLY Carter’s Shailer Park home was known by her friends as the “best for hide and seek”.

Mrs Carter and her husband had been looking for a property for some time when they decided to go and take a peek at 32-34 Leo Lindo Drive.

“It had been on the market for quite some time and my husband said, ‘This is the house’,” Mrs Carter said.

That was in 2017, and the couple since spent time freshening up the five-bedroom, three-bathroom property.

“It was an older home, so it needed a little bit of a pick me up,” Mrs Carter said.

“We installed fresh carpet, fresh paint, ducted airconditioning and gutter guard.

“We did quite a bit to the house to bring it into what was more aesthetically pleasing to us.”

The Carters have two sons, and configured the property to suit their growing family needs.

“The yard … was quite overgrown and we had two small kids and wanted a backyard,” Mrs Carter said.

“We cleared out the backyard and landscaped to make sure we had plenty of space for the kids.”

Mrs Carter said they also had a music room downstairs for their oldest son, and a poker room for her husband, so he could host poker nights.

“We will miss the way we lived in the home,” she said.

“It had enough room for everyone’s interests and space was most important.”

Mrs Carter said the kitchen was her favourite room, as it had a view over Shailer Park, and they had enjoyed entertaining at the house.

“We could entertain so beautifully,” she said. “Our house was voted best for hide and seek. Christmas was great because the aircon was cranking inside but the kids could be out in the pool.”
