Newlyweds Ash-Lea and Matt Gregory have caught the renovating bug.
The young guns have flipped several Central Coast properties, including a cute two-bedroom home near the lake at Chain Valley Bay and a single-level entertainer at Bateau Bay.
They are now listing their latest project, a five-bedroom family home in Tumbi Umbi.
Mrs Gregory said that the property at 6 Peter Close was ‘pretty original’ when they moved in three years ago.
“We look for the houses in the worst condition because they are cheaper to buy,” she said.
The finished result is impressive.
The coastal home, listed with McGrath Toukley, offers light filled interiors that seamlessly continue through to a generous lounge, modern kitchen and two main bedrooms.
The kitchen with stone benchtop and stainless steel appliances overlooks a fresh dining room that flows to an undercover entertainment deck and child-friendly grassy backyard.
A family bathroom includes underfloor heating and double vanity.
Upstairs there is an even bigger main bedroom, study and separate living area with dark feature wall.
“This is one of my favourite parts of the house — you get great views and it is a bit of a retreat with the master bedroom up there,” Mrs Gregory said.
“I also love the backyard, it is so private and great for entertaining.”
The Gregory’s have renovating in the blood — Ash-Lea’s dad was a builder and her husband Matt is a carpenter by trade. The couple have also worked in real estate and are now moving on to another reno project in Budgewoi.
“This Tumbi sale will be an emotional one … it’s such a great area in a cul-de-sac with lovely neighbours. We also got married while we were living here, so there are lots of memories. But the house is too big for us.”
No. 6 Peter Close, Tumbi Umbi is for sale via Chris Smith of McGrath Toukley and has a price guide of $820,000-$899,000.
