The picturesque acreage at 12 Bayfield Rd, which has its own putting green, was jointly listed last November by Andrew Crauford from Ray White West Pennant Hills and Sandy Ward from Ray White Dural.
The final sale price has not been disclosed, however, it is believed it is the fifth highest paid for a non-development site in the semirural suburb.
According to CoreLogic RP Data, the suburb record is held by 25A Crosslands Rd, a 2ha lifestyle property which sold for $5.1 million in June 2008.
The Bayfield Rd acreage, which is less than a five-minute drive to the Galston Village, has many high-end features including a mosaic edged swimming pool and adjoining cabana. It also has a glass panelled spa, built into the pool.
The five-bedroom homestead is elegantly decorated and has a large kitchen, massive games room plus wet bar overlooking the property. Bi-fold doors lead to a covered terrace with outdoor kitchen and barbecue There is also a separate two bedroom original cottage on the 1.76ha estate.
Latest figures from CoreLogicRP Data show there were 35 sales recorded in Galston in the 12 months ending in November.
The median house price in the suburb — which has a mix of residential and acreage properties — dropped 12 per cent during this time to $1.32 million.
