Luxury hotel-esque pad in rare air for McKinnon market

A resort-style pad, with a contemporary design inspired by luxury hotels, could become just the second house to breach the $3 million mark in the southeastern suburb of McKinnon.

The four-bedroom, five-bathroom house at 25 Draper St is on the market with a $2.8-$3.05 million price guide.

CoreLogic records show only a five-bedroom house with a pool and tennis court at 20 Hopkins St has surpassed $3 million, fetching $3.1 million in 2016.

Jellis Craig Bentleigh director Nick Renna said his office also achieved $3.088 million for a five-bedroom French provincial pad in neighbouring Bentleigh, at 15 Hayes St.

He said the Draper St pad was designed by architects Tribeca and built about four years ago, encircling a brilliant north-facing yard with a mosaic tiled pool, 12-person spa, tiled alfresco area and barbecue kitchen.

A dramatic foyer with an 8m void and Brazilian stone feature wall offer a striking first impression to the home’s interior.

It flows into a “winter lounge” and dining room, packed with luxe features including a stone gas fireplace, cocktail bar and floor-to-ceiling windows framing pool views.

The outlook is also on offer from a second open-plan living and dining area with a stone kitchen containing Liebherr, Siemens and Bosch appliances, and a purpose-built gym.

The property is being sold via an expressions of interest campaign closing March 5.
