An ultra modern home with more than a touch of glamour has just made the second-highest sale of all time in Windsor Gardens, according to CoreLogic.
Selling agent Tony Caruana says the home, which sits on a 475sqm block has also set a new benchmark for homes on less than 500sqm in the popular northeastern suburb.
The four-bedroom home at 12 Stanfield Ave attracted a dozen registered bidders and sold for $773,000 at auction, Mr Caurana said.
Windsor Gardens sits just over 10km from Adelaide’s CBD, in the Port Adelaide Enfield Council area and has a median house price of $457,000, according to CoreLogic.
Its highest recorded sale was for a grand 1880s-built house on more than 3500sqm on Lagonda Drive which sold for $1.2 million in November 2016.
Mr Caruana said the Stanfield Ave property, which was advertised without a price guide, attracted a lot of interest during its auction campaign, due largely to its high quality build.
But the success of the auction still came as something of a surprise.

“I was surprised at the number of registered bidders – it was nearly a 40C day,” he said.
“We were probably expecting it was going to be a ground breaker but in the low to mid $700,000s.
“The feedback (from buyers at opens) was for high $600,000s, low to mid $700,000s.”
Mr Caruana said the property attracted a strong market of professionals looking for a low-maintenance property.
“They were looking for something that was done and that they could just move into instead of building,” he said.
The home was set on a corner allotment and Mr Caruana said it had views over the CBD from its second storey.
Some of its features included a standout custom designed staircase topped by a pendant-style chandelier.
There was also an outdoor kitchen with a built-in barbecue and a state-of-the-art home theatre with a 280cm (110 inch) screen and surround sound.
The home also included a host of luxury features including calcutta porcelain benchtops in the kitchen, a high-end walk-in wardrobe and marble tiled ensuite to the main bedroom, a gas log fire in the main living area, and an upstairs retreat with a bar.
