She might be a member of an incredibly wealthy hotel dynasty, but Nicky Hilton has just proved she’s just like us.
The 35-year-old younger sister of The Simple Life star Paris Hilton raised eyebrows recently after ditching the chauffer and being photographed riding on public transport.
The mother-of-two was believed to be using New York City’s subway system when the pictures were taken.
Hilton cut a casual figure, wearing tan boots, blue jeans and a large tan coat for the trip.
She was also pictured passing the time by scrolling through her phone.
The businesswoman, socialite, model and fashion designer was born in 1983 to former actress Kathy Hilton (née Avanzino) and Richard Hilton, whose grandfather Conrad Hilton founded the Hilton hotel empire in 1919.
Today, there are close to 600 Hilton hotels and resorts around the globe.
Nicky Hilton has an estimated net worth of $US20 ($AU28) million and is also married to James Rothschild, a member of the prominent, wealthy Rothschild family.
In 2004, Hilton launched her own fashion line and she has also designed jewellery, handbags and other accessories over the years.
In 2005, she was the face of Aussie underwear label Antz Pantz with fellow heiress Kimberly Stewart.
She has also published a style book and has supported a number of charities including Starlight Children’s Foundation, Make-a-wish Foundation, Race to Erase MS and Union Rescue Mission.
