A COUPLE has snapped up a sprawling lifestyle property in the same street as their kids in Wallington before auction.
Eager to be close to their grandkids, the couple from regional Victoria wanted to secure 312 Rhinds Rd before it went to auction on the weekend.
This started a best and final offer process with the couple successfully securing the property for $1,400,250, which was well above the asking price of $1.25 million to $1.35 million.

RT Edgar, Ocean Grove agent Chris Schumann said the buyers were really stoked to secure the property.
“Their kids live in the same street and they really wanted to be near their grandchildren,” Mr Schumann said.
“It is a really popular spot and there are a lot of people trying to get into that area.”
A long driveway lined with established gum trees leads to the recently renovated house surrounded by a well-cared for garden of roses and native plants.
The fully rendered house is on 1.76ha of land and has an open-plan kitchen, meals area and loungeroom, a rumpus room and a hallway with four bedrooms positioned off it.
There is also a covered outdoor entertainment area with outdoor kitchen.
