CAREER HIGHLIGHTS/BEST KNOWN FOR

With my brilliant team taking the Mayfair Hotel to number one five-star hotel in Australia (Trivago) and number one in Adelaide (TripAdvisor).

Seven years successful marketing and business event attraction to South Australia as head of sales and marketing with the Adelaide Convention Bureau.

I’VE LIVED IN MY HOME FOR … Five years.

MY HOME IS…

A modern and open new build. Situated on an old olive orchard and marble quarry in Rostrevor just behind Morialta reserve, the very area my wife grew up in.

I LIVE WITH …

My wife Nicole, daughters Maya and Charlotte, and dog Kingsley (the only other man in the house!).

I LOVE MY HOME BECAUSE …

It is what I always envisaged life in Australia would be … sociable with bright living spaces that open out to alfresco entertaining, garden and pool.

BUT I STILL NEED TO …

Re-lay my drive and straighten some retaining walls … the clay soils in this area move a lot. With two kids and a dog, an internal repaint is also coming up!

MY DECORATING STYLE IS …

Clean lines with bright and comfortable gathering areas. We like the blend of wood and metal.

RECENT PURCHASE

Gazebo and sun loungers for the pool area.

I COLLECT …

Wine, although it never seems to last that long! I come across some great wineries through my work at the Mayfair.

FAVOURITE ROOM/ PART OF YOUR HOME/ PROPERTY

Alfresco kitchen and entertaining area.

HOME FAVOURITES

— Our dog Kingsley

— Kitchen table … best moments are conversation with great food!

— The pool.

IN MY GARDEN I HAVE …
Plenty of grass to kick the soccer ball and for Kingsley to run. Vegie drums.

WHEN I GET HOME AT NIGHT …

Its often later after work or soccer (I coach and play). Firstly, hello to the family, play with the dog, water the vegies … and then eat!

AT WEEKENDS I LIKE TO …

Sport generally comes first … then it is garden, entertain and relax.

MY FIRST CAR WAS …

A VW Polo.

I LIKE TO LISTEN TO …

Quite a wide range of stuff! I love British music from the ’90s … Oasis, Cast, Pulp, The Veuve etc. I also have a penchant for reggae much to Nicole’s disgust! For the classics, I can’t look past The Beatles (I was born near Liverpool and my father was at school with John Lennon).

AT THE MOMENT I AM READING …

Origin by Dan Brown.

FAVOURITE FILM

The Shawshank Redemption.

CLEAN FREAK OR MESSY BESSIE?

Clean freak … I do work in a five-star hotel!

ON MY WISH LIST IS …

New York at Christmas.

WHEN I’M HOME I LIKE TO COOK …

Not that often! I do make a great bolognese and enjoy the barbecue.

FAV CAFE/RESTAURANT/ BAR

-Cafe: La Moka

-Restaurant: Golden Boy … with honourable mention to the Mayflower Restaurant, I am bias, but it is excellent!

-Bar: Clever Little Tailor.

FAVOURITE DRINK?

Shiraz.

WHEN I WAS A CHILD I WANTED TO BE …

A Grenadier guard.

FAVOURITE CHILDHOOD MEMORY …

My first trip to Anfield (home of Liverpool FC) as a six-year old with my grandfather. I can still feel the noise reverberating through me!

IF I COULD CHANGE CAREER NOW I WOULD BE …

A detective.

FAVOURITE SA HOLIDAY SPOT

There are loads. We often head along the Fleurieu Peninsula and into McLaren Vale.

DREAM HOLIDAY DESTINATION

An African safari.

FAVOURITE SPORTS TEAM

Liverpool FC.

SOMETHING YOU WANT TO ACHIEVE IN THE NEXT 10 YEARS?

My daughters set up for rewarding careers.

MY NEIGHBOURS ARE …

Dimitri (he brings us fresh eggs!), Tony and Esther.

I COULDN’T LIVE WITHOUT …

My family and great food!

IF I COULD AFFORD IT I WOULD LIVE …

A second home in the south of France!

HOME MEANS …

A place to be yourself.
